According to report, Linda Ikeji is allegedly battling with officials of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). It was reported that, FIRS has slammed MS Ikeji with a N75 million fine and the agency has initiated measures to prosecute her in a court of law. The report also adds that the blogger who often  show off her home on social media, including special publication including the interior photos on her blog, has denied ownership of her Banana Island Mansion in Lagos .This comes few weeks after a Lagos lawyer, Olumide Babalola, filed a suit against Linda for using his pictures without permission and associating them with crime-related stories allegedly seeking N50 Million in damages.

Music producer,singer and father Babatunde Okungbowa widely known as Ojb Jezreel has been confirmed dead as a result of kidney failure. A source who confirmed his death revealed  that his kidney transplant failed completely since last week and his family had to keep him on N35k dialysis to overcome the relapse. His body has been deposited in a morgue at Isolo General Hospital.  OJB had in 2013 undergone a kidney transplant in India after one of his three wives donated her kidney for him to stay alive. He is survived by three wives, June ‘Ama’, Korede and Mabel and many children. Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones.  More details later.....

An indigenous firm, Zeepro International Ltd., on Tuesday donated sports equipment to the Nigeria Modern Pentathlon Federation (NMPF) in Lagos. Zepro donated fencing uniforms and helmets, Olympic table, two laser guns, water dispenser and microwave. Pentagon is an Olympic sport that comprises five events. They are fencing, 200m free style, swimming, show jumping with horse and a final combined event of pistol shooting and a 3200m cross country run. The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, says the World Bank is working closely with the Federal Government to review the country’s privatised mining enterprises. Fayemi, who made this known in an interview with Newsmen said the collaboration was with a view to making the privatised enterprises functional. He said the bank would also help Nigeria exploit its minerals to achieve its planned diversification of the economy. Fayemi said the ministry had developed a road map, according to the diversification task given to it by the Federal Government. He said the road map for the sector stated the vision, focus and the strategies that could be used to grow the solid minerals sector. The minister said the committee set up to produce the road map came up with a robust document, which outlined priority areas and how to mine in commercial quantity. Three hostages being held by militants in the Philippines have appeared in a video pleading for their governments to meet the captors' demands. The Canadian, Norwegian and Filipino men are being held by Abu Sayyaf, the Islamist militant separatists who last week beheaded Canadian John Ridsdel. In the video, the hostages say if the demands are not met "we will be executed like our friend John". Abu Sayyaf has previously demanded a multi-million dollar ransom. The Philippines and Canadian government have said they will not give in to ransom demands. The Philippines has also launched a military operation against the militant group.

Reports have it that at least two unknown assailants have hacked a Hindu tailor to death in central Bangladesh, amid a rise in attacks on religious minorities in the South Asian nation. Police officials said they were investigating whether Saturday’s killing in Tangail was linked to religious groups suspected of a series of minority killings, or was tied to a family dispute. Many of the killings have been blamed on or claimed by groups such as al-Qaeda or the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group.

A child has been pulled alive from the rubble after a building collapse in Nairobi killing at least seven people. The survivor was found 10 hours after the building collapsed on Friday night in the poor neighbourhood of Huruna as torrential rain lashed the Kenyan capital. Nairobi Deputy Governor, Jonathan Mueke, said an investigation would look into why the building collapsed. It is unknown how many people are still trapped in the debris. Reports say more than 120 people have been rescued and taken to hospital.

It was learnt that the Sport Utility Vehicle in which the family travelled in, had a burst tyre on the highway, leading to the crash. Ocholi, who hailed from Ogbabede-Abocho in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, and his third child were said to have died on the spot after the Prado-Jeep had a burst tyre in the rear and somersaulted several times. It was gathered that the minister’s SUV ran into other vehicles in his convoy. A critically injured Blessing died at the Doka Government Hospital, Kaduna, around 4pm on Sunday. Badeh's Hose The EFCC has recovered $1m cash from one of the houses belonging to the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh(retd.), The PUNCH has learnt. Our correspondent learnt the money was recovered after detectives searched a mansion located at 6, Ogun River Street, Maitama, Abuja. A detective at the EFCC, who did not want his name in print, said, “We have seized several properties belonging to Badeh. A few days ago, we returned to the mansion located at 6, Ogun River Street, Maitama.“In the presence of several witnesses, including neighbours, we searched the house and recovered $1m in cash. The money has been lodged as evidence.” When our correspondent visited the mansion on Sunday, the EFCC seal was seen on the gate, with the warning, ‘EFCC, Keep off!” written all over the fence. Bloody clashes in the Mile 12, Ketu area of Lagos State on Thursday left no fewer than 10 persons dead and  about 100 others injured. Among the dead were two schoolchildren, traders, artisans and residents. A two-year-old boy, Andrew Daniel, was abducted by some hoodlums and taken away after his father, Igba, was attacked with  machetes and left for the dead. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board said it has released the results of over 200,000 candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination, which began on Saturday. The Registrar/Chef Executive, JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, who said this on Tuesday in Abuja, stated that candidates, who had sat for the examination should visit the website of JAMB to check their results. A total of 1,589,175 candidates applied for the 2016 UTME, while the 343 prison inmates, who registered for the examination, will have access to computers at both the Kaduna and Ikoyi prisons. Visually-impaired candidates, numbering about 201, are expected to sit for the 2016 examination at designated centres in all state capitals and the FCT.
