Hijab Chick Barbie, The New Trend On Instagram
A twenty four year old Nigerian, Haneefah Adam has come up with a new trendy Hijab Barbie which is branded @hijabchickbarbie. This new Hijab style is all over the place on Instagram. The Hijab Chick Barbie came into light just to make a variety of playing dolls for little girls in modest dressing in the market.
After crafting the idea for months, she came home to Nigeria and started documenting these ideas. She created all Hijab and dresses on her own. her doll named Hijarbie has taken Instagram by storm and is currently trending on the social app, it has its own separate handle called @hijabchickbarbie
According to her " it got me thinking how i would love to see a doll dressed the way i would --Covered". Adam who is a fashion designer herself also said "i was mulling the idea for about three months while i was studying for my Masters in U.K". When i got back to Nigeria, i went to the mall and purchased a doll, dressed it, documented it and like they say ' all is history'
I personally think its a great idea, for our little girls who love to play with dolls as they can learn from it appearance that a lady does not need to be naked to be beautiful and chick.
Thumbs up Haneefah Adams!!! The next time i go to any store i will surely look out for @hijabchickbarbie on the stand i've got little miss"s in the house that loves dolls!
